About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Incident Response Team Manager to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for leading the crisis response during crisis situations, providing swift guidance in the event of cyber incidents, and overseeing the day-to-day operation of monitoring, detecting, and responding to threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the crisis response during crisis situations, lead analyses, response, and mitigation activities
  • Provide swift guidance in the event of cyber incidents
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the Cyber Incident Response Team
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of monitoring, detecting, and responding to threats
  • Manage the implementation and enhancement of various crisis management processes, playbooks, and tools
  • Oversee activities and service management of related vendors and partners
  • Develop crisis exercises and training to prepare stakeholders for their responsibilities in mitigating risks during a crisis event
  • Develop and lead threat detection rules and correlations to meet the expectations of business requirements
  • Lead implementation activities and capabilities for an early detection of signals and intelligence
  • Perform root cause analysis of the incidents by utilizing existing tools and techniques
  • Report and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working in or leading a SOC/CIRT or equivalent
  • Experienced and subject matter expertise in building and operating threat detection and incident response processes and procedures
  • Experience with frameworks and taxonomies like NIST, MITRE's ATT&CK, and Cyber Kill-Chain, SANS, and MITRE's CAPEC
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Security and related products and features
  • Industry certifications (CISSP/GIAC suite/EC-Council) are a strong asset
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities, ability to reason logically, looking at issues from multiple perspectives at a micro and macro level
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results
  • Analyze and understand results of security vulnerabilities and attack techniques
  • Liaise with business unit owners for proper risk scoring and mitigation tactics
  • Develop briefing documents for senior management as it relates to the security posture
  • May require off-hours support (as needed)
