Job Summary

Proplus Contracting is seeking a skilled Floor Covering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for ensuring that our clients receive high-quality flooring installations that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Material Handling: Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements, and measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding as needed.
  • Installation: Prepare flooring plans and scheduling, measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors, resilient floor coverings, and hardwood floors.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, and estimate costs and materials for future projects.
  • Pre-Installation: Prepare floors for installations, remove existing floor coverings and contaminants, and install carpeting on walls or other surfaces.
  • Equipment Operation: Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting, and prepare and maintain work materials and supplies.
  • Project Management: Determine layout and installation procedures, and install interior and exterior prefabricated products.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in the flooring industry.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
