About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Distribution Centre Team Supervisor to join our team at Indigo Books & Music. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of warehouse staff and provide guidance and support to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the distribution centre, including managing inventory, processing orders, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Quality and Productivity: Monitor and improve quality and productivity metrics, including inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and employee engagement.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Analyze problems and make informed decisions to resolve issues and improve processes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members. Proficient in MS Office Suite and warehouse management systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and quality.
