We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our maintenance and fabrication team, you will be responsible for performing skilled carpentry work at the journeyman level, related to maintenance and fabrication of carpentry and structural components.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Execution
- Reviews work requests and consults with user departments regarding installation and other project requirements.
- Interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the required materials and equipment.
- Maintenance and Repair
- Designs, constructs, and maintains woodwork, furniture, doors, and hardware.
- Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structural elements such as T-bar ceiling grids, wall guards, handrails, and wall components.
- Inventory Management and Reporting
- Maintains storage and work areas in clean, tidy, and safe condition.
- Maintains an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Completes related reports and records, including daily work summary sheets.
- Team Leadership and Training
- Assigns work tasks to designated staff and provides related training and orientation.
- Checks work performed to ensure proper completion.
- Grade 10 plus two years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Carpenter recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
