Role OverviewThis position is integral to the upkeep, enhancement, and leadership of Ripple's marketing platforms as we strive to develop comprehensive features for various internal stakeholders while expanding our global brand presence.
This role reports directly to the Senior Director of Design (Lead Growth Engineer).
Key Responsibilities- Possess extensive yet detailed knowledge of web development, spanning from server-side to client-side, and excel in articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor an in-house team of front-end developers, as well as manage external development resources.
- Engage in hands-on support for your team, writing code daily, implementing features, and guiding technical decision-making while aligning with team and organizational objectives.
- Foster the professional growth and technical skills of team members.
- Oversee backend processes and deployment using Vercel for building, testing, and deploying applications.
- Direct technology choices, coding standards, and implementation methodologies.
- Enhance and maintain technical documentation.
- Continuously work on site performance improvements and technical SEO.
- Coordinate projects from requirement gathering, technical scoping, time estimation, vendor onboarding, security assessments, to the complete development cycle.
- Collaborate with design and marketing leaders to clarify and define user experience requirements.
We are looking for candidates with:
- 8+ years of comprehensive web development experience.
- Expertise in scaling websites through backend architecture and a strong foundation in DevOps.
- A profound understanding of complex web applications and the ability to integrate with cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with CMS integrations, particularly with Contentful and WordPress.
- Experience in establishing a performance testing framework for web applications, especially concerning user interfaces.
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, enhancing workflows with local and cloud builds, and troubleshooting both front-end and back-end errors.
- A background in applying design thinking to create user-centered web experiences.
