Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Researcher to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for conducting research on cloud-based attacks and threat landscapes across OAuth, Enterprise, and AI Applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on emerging threats and attack vectors, including attacks on SaaS, AI, and OAuth Apps.
  • Collaborate with engineers and product managers to develop new product features that address identified security gaps.
  • Design and implement detection and disruption mechanisms based on alerts, ensuring the security and integrity of our cloud-based services.
  • Engage with the security community through papers, presentations, and blogs, sharing your expertise and contributing to the advancement of the field.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, large-scale computing, cybersecurity, or anomaly detection, or a Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, C#, or C++, and/or proficiency in a query language like KQL, SQL, or Cypher.
  • Experience with modern attacker kill-chain, MITRE ATT&CK, and emerging threats.
  • Ability to meet security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in software development, computing, cybersecurity, or anomaly detection, or a Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of attack tools and Red team frameworks.
  • Experience with large data sets and authoring security research materials.
  • Skills in engaging with customers and driving product improvements.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
Compensation

The typical base pay range for this role in Canada is CAD $104,000 - CAD $193,200 per year.
