Position Overview
We are currently in search of a skilled and driven Lead Reservoir Specialist for a one-year contract to support our exploration and production initiatives.
The Lead Reservoir Specialist will be instrumental in assessing reservoir characteristics, delivering essential data interpretation, and aiding our ongoing efforts to enhance hydrocarbon extraction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive petrophysical evaluations of well logs, core samples, and other pertinent geological and geophysical information to analyze reservoir properties.
- Interpret and synthesize well log data, including resistivity, porosity, and saturation metrics, to accurately characterize reservoirs.
- Collaborate with Geologists and Reservoir Engineers to develop and refine reservoir models, integrating petrophysical data for effective reservoir characterization.
- Ensure the integrity and precision of well log data and provide recommendations for log acquisition strategies.
- Assess formation characteristics, fluid dynamics, and rock mechanics to inform reservoir development plans.
- Support reservoir risk evaluation and decision-making by offering petrophysical insights.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements and technological innovations in petrophysical analysis, recommending their implementation as suitable.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Geologists, Geophysicists, Reservoir Engineers, and Drilling Engineers to meet project objectives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in petrophysical analysis with a successful track record.
- Proficient in Schlumberger's Techlog and Petrel software.
- Experience in writing, troubleshooting, and executing Python scripts within Techlog.
- Background in QA/QC and management of extensive well log data inventories.
- Familiarity with designing formation analysis acquisition programs and integrating results into petrophysical models.
- Contribute to reservoir characterization, including identifying hydrocarbon-bearing zones and net pay calculations.
- Practical field experience providing insights into well logging operations and data acquisition.
