Job Title: Shipper/Receiver (1 year Contract)

ALS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our team in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

Job Summary:

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for sending sampling supplies to clients, as well as receiving laboratory supplies and samples from vendors and clients. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, recording discrepancies and notifying supervisors as needed.
  • Evaluate and segregate bottles for proofing protocols, updating national drives and submitting to login.
  • Maintain and order inventory items, delivering them to requisitioning departments and obtaining authorized signatures.
  • Pack and ship samples to clients and ALS network labs using appropriate couriers and procedures.
  • Prepare bills of lading, checking items against work orders to ensure quantities, destination, and routing information is correct.
  • Deliver and pick up samples, completing required shipping paperwork and communication with couriers.
  • Provide customer service to clients and couriers, maintaining a clean work environment and assisting with equipment maintenance.
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Excellent English communication skills (auditory, verbal, writing, and reading).
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident with computers.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Well-organized, with proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required.
  • Commitment to excellence and a client-focused attitude.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 to 4 years experience working in shipping/receiving in a warehouse environment.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Previous Forklift license/experience is an asset.
  • Valid provincial Class 5 driver's license.
