This role involves working within an acute care environment, specifically focusing on neurological cases. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, engaging with various healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical services independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Conduct assessments, interventions, and case management for patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of rehabilitation services in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Supervise and mentor students, providing clinical guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and program development using clinical expertise.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent experience in an acute care setting as a Speech Language Pathologist, specifically in assessing and treating adult patients with dysphagia and swallowing disorders. Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in providing communication treatments for patients with neurological impairments, such as stroke or brain injury. Familiarity with Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) studies is an asset.
