Job Summary:

Westlake is seeking a skilled Millwright to join our team. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to understand equipment specifications and requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic components, as well as other equipment issues.
  • Operate a variety of precision tools, including Vernier Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and OD tapes.
  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on PVC extrusion machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other trades' groups and contractors to complete project assignments.
  • Operate grinder, saw, lathe, and milling machines to make customized parts or repairs.
  • Fabricate custom parts, fixtures, and guarding using arc welding, grinding, and oxyacetylene cutting.
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment, including mixers, saws, pullers, precision bearings, gear boxes, clutches, motors, shafts, sprockets, chains, and conveyors.

Requirements:

  • Ontario Licensed Millwright certificate is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience post-license.
  • Ability to operate fork lifts and aerial lifts.
  • Previous relevant experience in extrusion of PVC automotive industry is preferred.
  • Able to work continental shift.
  • Read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work at heights and in enclosed spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic Electrical training and troubleshooting experience would be an asset.
