Ferme D.D. Gascon & Fils Inc is seeking a reliable and physically demanding Livestock Labourer to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our livestock.
Key Responsibilities- Animal Care: Disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses, handle animals, mark livestock as proof of ownership, monitor animal health, perform animal grooming activities, perform livestock feeding, prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving, supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly, treat livestock health issues.
- Farm Maintenance: Feed and tend animals, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens, perform general farm duties.
- Equipment Operation: Milking system (automated), tractor, farm truck, forklift.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be working in a rural area, surrounded by corn farming and other miscellaneous crop farming operations.
Requirements- Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
- Physical Demands: Ability to work independently, handling heavy loads, walking.
- Personal Suitability: Organized, reliability, quick learner.
