Exciting Opportunity for a Psychometrist

We are seeking an experienced Psychometrist to join our team at the Castlegar District Health Centre in beautiful Castlegar, B.C. This part-time (0.20 FTE) position offers a great opportunity to work within the health care system, providing needed services to clients, and learning more about Psychology services in a Health Centre setting.

Key Responsibilities

Under the clinical direction of the Psychologist/Neuropsychologist, this position will administer, score, and summarize results of established tests of psychological and neuropsychological function to adult and pediatric in and out-patients.

  • Schedule and administer a battery of tests designed to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and personality function to referred patients
  • Score tests, note observations regarding patients' behavior, and summarize results
  • Maintain patient files and records and keep workload statistics
  • Plan revisions and expansion of existing battery of psychological tests in consultation with the Psychologist/Neuropsychologist
  • Maintain a library of test manuals, test norms, and books and articles relevant to the interpretation of psychological tests
  • Ensure safety and well-being of patients being investigated and encourage optimal performance
  • Attend relevant hospital meetings as required/directed
  • Demonstrate testing procedures to Hospital and Medical Staff, physicians, nurses, and students as required/directed
Scheduling Information

Shift types for this position are days, and shift times are from 08:00 to 15:42 hours. Days of work are Thursday.
