The University of British Columbia Family Practice Postgraduate Program in Victoria is seeking a dedicated physician to contribute to our esteemed Faculty Development team.

Our program, one of the largest family practice postgraduate training sites in British Columbia, boasts both international and Canadian medical graduates. Residents gain invaluable experience across diverse settings, including two major tertiary care hospitals in Victoria, community hospitals, and ambulatory clinics throughout the region.

As a Faculty Development Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the professional growth of our preceptors who guide resident teaching and education.

  • Your responsibilities will encompass:
  • Providing comprehensive support for the professional development of Family Practice preceptors in resident teaching and education.
  • Collaborating in the delivery of program-wide workshops designed to enhance clinical faculty skills.
  • Developing and delivering engaging faculty development resources and content.
  • Serving as a valuable resource for local faculty, offering guidance and support.
  • Actively participating in program-wide initiatives and departmental endeavors.

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • Membership and Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
  • Eligibility for British Columbia medical licensure.
  • Proven experience in education and administration within a healthcare setting.
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively teach and mentor residents.
