Job Summary

The HR Representative plays a vital role in supporting various Human Resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and disability management. This position requires a strong understanding of HR principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities in the Recruiting Portal of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to ensure accuracy and professionalism.
  • Manage the Job Preference List (JPL) and respond to enquiries.
  • Support and implement recruitment strategies to target active and passive candidates.
  • Ensure hiring practices, procedures, and policies are followed and meet current labour and human rights legislation.
  • Provide support for relocation logistics and orientation for new hires.
  • Prepare for and attend recruitment/career fair events.
  • Partner with Government Relations for the NIEP – Northwestel Indigenous Employment Program.

HR Core Skill Enhancement

The HR Representative will support HR Consultants with various activities, including:

  • Disability management.
  • Disciplinary management process.
  • Employment offers.
  • Probationary Reviews.
  • Annual Scholarship process.
  • Remote and Flexible Work Arrangements.
  • Creating, editing, and updating Job Descriptions and Job Profiles.
  • Scheduling meetings with various individuals.
  • Participating in learning and development opportunities.

Metrics, Research, Reporting, and Policy

  • Manage HR metrics, tracking, reporting, and building presentations.
  • Create and execute the annual HR Effectiveness Survey.
  • Conduct research on federal reporting requirements and labour code updates.
  • Communicate and educate on HR company policies and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Human Resources or related discipline with a minimum of three years operational HR experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship management, oral and written communication, and listening skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS.
  • Customer-focused attitude and high level of professionalism.
  • Ability to demonstrate social responsibility and strong knowledge of HR legislation.
