Position Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Technician/Technologist to contribute to our projects in the Barrie office. Our management values innovative and talented individuals, recognizing that their growth is vital to our success.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a College Level Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in materials testing and inspection is essential.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) and surveying is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in civil construction is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Conducting field tests and sampling of aggregates, soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Performing compaction tests on subgrade soils, aggregates, and asphalt.
  • Executing inspections of subgrade and foundation work.
  • Overseeing drill rig operations.
  • Assisting with Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Supporting field investigations, including supervising borehole drilling and monitoring well installations, as well as conducting test pit investigations and sampling of surface water and groundwater.
  • Compiling, tabulating, and interpreting field and analytical data.
  • Conducting various office and field tasks related to materials testing.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Position Details:

  • This is a contract position.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
