Position Summary

As a Personal Support Worker, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide essential support to residents.

This role is accountable to the Clinical Manager and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Delivering fundamental nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans and established nursing protocols.
  • Encouraging resident engagement in daily living activities.
  • Contributing to the formulation and upkeep of resident care plans and participating in care discussions.
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' physical and mental health to the Registered Nurse, ensuring accurate documentation as per established policies.
  • Assisting in maintaining a secure environment for both residents and staff, responding appropriately to emergencies and adhering to safety protocols.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Completion of a recognized personal support worker or developmental services worker program; or
  • Enrollment in a college or university program for registered practical nursing or registered nursing.
  • A sincere interest in understanding and addressing the needs of the elderly population.
  • Certification in CPR is required.
  • Competence as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
