Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to join our team at our new Coaldale, Alberta Warehouse. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Warehouse Operations for a state-of-the-art highly automated cold-storage facility. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the local warehouse team and providing a level of service satisfying customer requirements, at a level of cost agreed in the budget.
  • Overseeing a supervisory team that leads daily site activities, driving results that exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Adepting the NewCold culture and upholding company values, ensuring that a positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded within the team on-site.
  • Directing the operational team in alignment with company policy, ensuring that agreed standards are understood and met.
  • Completing local KPI templates and sharing information internally, engaging the local team to search for improvement opportunities.
  • Monitoring and controlling all expenditure with a focus on payroll costs, reacting quickly to adverse variances.
  • Structuring communication on-site to include daily team briefs and shift handovers.
  • Communicating with relevant parties any process deviations, quality issues, and service deficiencies, or risk of failure in these areas.
  • Completing agreed internal reporting and communication as required by the Management Team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of warehouse operations management experience (preferably automated warehousing or food industry expertise).
  • Strong P&L, finance, operations, team management, site planning and stock control experience.
