Job Summary

MERIDIAN MARINE INDUSTRIES INC is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of metal fabrication and repair work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute welding process specifications to meet industry standards and company requirements.
  • Operate and maintain manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including arc welding machines, soldering machines, and spot welding machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and repair of metal parts and products.
  • Examine welds and ensure they meet quality standards through visual inspection and testing.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move heavy metal parts and products.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in metal fabrication and repair, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent education.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
Working Conditions
  • Work in a variety of environments, including outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Work with heavy machinery and equipment, including arc welding machines and hoisting equipment.
