Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our respiratory therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor clinical services in your assigned area, ensuring seamless delivery of care to patients.
  • Act as a clinical resource for daily operations, providing guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
  • Develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, monitoring patient progress and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Identify new equipment requirements and establish adequate levels of supplies and materials for your area.
  • Participate in interprofessional patient rounds, conferences, and meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
  • Graduated from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy and successfully passed the National Respiratory Certification Exam.
  • Current certifications in Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Peripheral Access Vascular Devise (PVAD) insertion, care, flushing, and removal.
  • Completion of the Procedural Sedation (PS) qualification exam and medical administration skills checklist.
  • Operating Room experience with completed competencies in intubation, arterial line insertion, and autologous transfusion.
  • Experience in various services, including Women's Health, Thoracic, EBUS, Arthroplasty, Urology, Robotics, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Trauma, Plastics, OMFS, Neurosurgery, Spine, Otolaryngology, and Ophthalmology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants with expertise in Connect Care and experience with interprofessional teams are preferred.
