About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Essence Health Services Inc. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in a nursing home/home for the aged setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their personal hygiene and dignity are maintained.
  • Meal Preparation and Service: Serve meal trays and feed patients, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Mobility and Transfers: Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients with care, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Make beds, maintain patients' rooms, and ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are available.
  • First Aid and Emergency Response: Administer first aid in emergency situations and respond to call signals to determine patients' needs.
  • Transportation: Transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher, ensuring their safe and comfortable transfer.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Security and Safety: Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check, and Tuberculosis test.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with repetitive tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, initiative, interpersonal awareness, organized, reliability, and team player.
