Animal Care Technician

At Maple Leaf Foods, we're committed to providing exceptional care for our animals and a safe working environment for our employees. As an Animal Care Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our pigs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with all areas of production, including feeding and general care of pigs
• Maintain herd health and environment for pigs
• Perform pressure washing and room preparation
• Conduct general maintenance, cleaning, and clerical duties

Preferred Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn and strong team and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Positive work ethic and attitude, attention to detail
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously
• Ability to lift 25kg
• Valid driver's license and ability to get to and from work located in a rural area
• Weekend, holiday hours, and alarm attending required on a rotational basis
• Experience in hog production considered an asset
