Family Medicine Physician

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Family Medicine Physician to join their team in a part-time 0.8 FTE role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a modern clinic located in Dartmouth, with a comfortable commute from Halifax.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough patient examinations, take accurate medical histories, and order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures as needed.
- Provide expert advice on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention to patients.
- Collaborate with other medical practitioners through consultation and referral to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations as required.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health concerns to Nova Scotia Public Health as per regulations.
This part-time position requires a commitment of 0.8 FTE, offering a flexible schedule that suits your needs.
Qualifications- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
