As a Senior Group Underwriter, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough reviews of group benefit applications, analyzing financial data, and assessing the overall risk profile of prospective clients.
- Developing and implementing underwriting strategies to mitigate risk and ensure profitability.
- Collaborating with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information regarding underwriting decisions.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in group insurance underwriting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex group benefit applications, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance proposals.
- Determine appropriate premium rates based on risk factors, industry benchmarks, and company guidelines.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Prepare comprehensive underwriting reports documenting the rationale behind decisions made.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, actuarial science, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in group insurance underwriting, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
