About the Role:

Wood's Homes is seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Wellness Navigator to join our team. As a key member of our Community Group Care, Therapeutic Campus-Based Care (TCBC), and Therapeutic Foster Care/Foster Care teams, you will play a vital role in ensuring the facilitation and support of quality Indigenous practices for children, families, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cultural knowledge and support to children, families, and communities, ensuring a safe and culturally sensitive therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with clinical and other front-line staff members to provide a culturally responsible therapeutic milieu.
  • Support the development and presentation of agency-wide trainings and teachings.
  • Coordinate cultural connections with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members.
  • Ensure documentation of practice-based knowledge through various mediums, including electronic records.

Requirements:

  • Self-identify as an Indigenous person and have lived experience and cultural knowledge of many different nations.
  • Appreciate cultural differences between Nations and promote good relations within multiple communities.
  • Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or other relevant Social Sciences, or extensive Indigenous Cultural and Ceremonial Practice Knowledge.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification, and a class 5 driver's license with own transportation.
