This role serves as the main liaison for asset managers and project leaders, addressing customer inquiries, nurturing client relationships, managing project oversight, and ensuring adherence to budgets, profit margins, and timelines while ensuring adequate personnel resources are allocated.
Key Responsibilities of the Wind Operations Manager – Major Components:
- Oversee the business unit's profit and loss, prepare financial forecasts, and set performance targets.
- Conduct weekly meetings with staff, including Asset Managers and Project Managers, and monthly safety discussions with the entire team.
- Engage in weekly meetings with supervisors to assess objectives and plans.
- Participate in monthly operational review sessions.
- Ensure timely approval and distribution of invoices to clients while assisting in accounts receivable and collections as necessary.
- Review recently completed projects for invoicing opportunities and evaluate open work orders.
- Monitor workforce utilization and make informed decisions regarding human resources, including work schedules.
- Meet with key clients to evaluate past performance and strategize for future budgets.
- Distribute Annual Operating Plans to clients as required and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Assign unallocated clients and prospects to appropriate Asset Managers or Project Managers, ensuring project monitoring is established.
- Manage inventory, vehicles, and tools, including purchasing and sales.
- Develop corrective action plans for underperforming business units.
- Provide mentorship and training to employees, conducting performance reviews quarterly.
- Authorize and review procurement requests.
- Participate in meetings with Asset Managers, Project Managers, and clients to address potential issues and facilitate deal closures.
- Ensure that change orders and additional quotes are generated for work performed outside the original project scope.
- Continuously monitor project costs and profit margins to identify and address issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications Required:
- Experience: 5-10 years in Wind Major Components, including:
- Gearbox and oil changes
- Bearing replacements
- Blade repairs and replacements
- Crane lift planning
- Troubleshooting expertise
- Transformer maintenance
- OEM experience with Vestas, Siemens, GE, or Nordex
- Familiarity with project management, quality assurance, and health and safety protocols is advantageous.
- Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma.
- Proven experience in managing a small, effective team.
- Willingness to travel as required.
