Clinical Therapist, Family Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Counsellor to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Clinical Counsellor, you will provide comprehensive group psycho-education and group therapy services to clients and families of Family Support Services, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver group psycho-education and group therapy services to clients and families, utilizing evidence-based practices and modalities.
- Provide consultation to MHSU inter-professional clinical staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of family support services across Fraser Health.
- Conduct intakes and assessments, and carry a small case load as required, to provide comprehensive support to clients and families.
- Develop and deliver in-services, presentations, and training related to family involvement and support, family therapy, and confidentiality and sharing of information.
- Collaborate with other relevant organizations to provide comprehensive support to clients and families.
- Develop and maintain client records, including charting client information, preparing progress notes and reports, and documenting for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, staff members, and community agency personnel to provide comprehensive support and services.
- Participate as a member of Fraser Health committees and planning bodies to enhance the mental health care system and reduce service gaps.
We are seeking a candidate with a Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling, or other relevant health-related discipline, and one year's recent experience in acute or community psychiatry and two years' recent experience in group therapy and family therapy, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of mental illness, particularly family therapy, and a variety of treatment modalities, including group psychotherapy and family interventions. They will also have demonstrated comprehensive psychotherapy skills, including supportive and cognitive behavioural interventions applicable to individuals, families, and groups, adults, and adolescents.
The successful candidate will be eligible for registration with relevant professional associations and possess a valid B.C. Driver's License and access to own vehicle.
