The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Graduate Advisor and Program Coordinator to provide exceptional support to graduate students in the Kinesiology and Health Sciences Department. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the success of our graduate students and the department as a whole.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate graduate program activities, including course scheduling, thesis proposals, and comprehensive exams.
- Provide academic advising to graduate students, including guidance on course selection, degree requirements, and thesis regulations.
- Develop and maintain digital content for promotional materials and social media, ensuring a strong online presence for the department.
- Coordinate events for prospective and current graduate students, including orientation and graduate recruiting.
- Manage the Kinesiology Students LEARN page, Kinesiology Graduate TEAMs/Sharepoint site, and Kinesiology Graduate webpages.
- Facilitate regular communication with the graduate student body, ensuring students are informed of departmental goals, objectives, and activities.
- University degree or equivalent education, preferably in Kinesiology or a health-related field.
- Demonstrated administrative experience in an academic department, with graduate student program coordination an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of the University of Waterloo and its policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Proven aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
