Nurse Practitioner

RhynoCare is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality nursing care to our residents. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the well-being of our residents.

• Provide Nursing Care: Deliver nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and the resident's plan of care, within the scope of practice of an RPN.
• Utilize Sound Nursing Practice: Ensure the delivery of excellent nursing and personal care in the assigned home area(s) by utilizing sound nursing practice principles.
• Ensure Timely Admissions and Transfers: Ensure timely and accessible admissions for residents, including a comprehensive orientation to the home and its services. Also, ensure that resident transfers and discharges are timely and safe.
• Manage Medications and Supplies: Ensure the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics, and ensure protocols are followed on all assigned shifts.
• Assess, Plan, Implement, and Evaluate Nursing Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of the residents.

• Education: Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent.
• Registration and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses and current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency.
• First Aid and CPR Certification: Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Interpersonal Skills: Deals with others in an effective, compassionate, and supportive manner.
• Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Long Term Care Act, Program Standards for Long Term Care, the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act, Occupation Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, Food and Drugs Act (Canada), Narcotic Control Act (Canada), Coroners Act, College of Nurses of Ontario Standards of Practice, and other pertinent Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Statutes which influence the operation of the Nursing Home and more specifically the nursing department.
• Medical Clearance: Medical Clearance (including but not limited to TB tests).
• Police Check and Clearance: Vulnerable Sector Police Check and/or Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Clear Criminal Record check.
