Position Overview
The Coordinator of Psychiatric Health Services plays a pivotal role in the oversight and enhancement of mental health services across the region. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Hospital Services in Psychiatry, Mental Health Housing, Legal Psychiatry, and Addiction, this position is instrumental in driving transformation and fostering continuous improvement in alignment with ministerial directives and anticipated outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee that the planning and execution of psychiatric hospital care and services adhere to best practices and maintain the highest quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulations governing medical-legal care and advocate for their application throughout the region.
- Provide ongoing clinical and administrative support to department leaders while remaining closely engaged with teams serving clients.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure a fair distribution of responsibilities among team members.
- Partner with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold accountability for services under coordination.
- Monitor and update action plans associated with cross-functional projects, particularly in the realm of legal psychiatry.
Ideal Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will exhibit a management style focused on results, prioritizing work presence and engagement. They will facilitate the contributions of managers and teams towards the continuous enhancement of care quality and safety, fostering a healthy and motivating work environment, and nurturing collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- A university degree in a relevant field.
- Training in health administration, business management, or public administration is advantageous.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience, with at least five years in a managerial role.
- Membership in a professional order is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the health and social services sector, particularly in hospital and legal psychiatry.
- Experience with the integration of multi-mission establishments and the implementation of performance improvement processes is a plus.
