LOFT Community Services is a distinguished and dynamic charitable organization dedicated to assisting individuals facing complex challenges, including mental and physical health issues, substance use disorders, poverty, and homelessness.

Annually, we serve approximately 19,878 individuals and provided 1,882 units of supportive housing last year, making LOFT one of Ontario's largest providers of mental health services.

To advance our mission, LOFT is seeking a Director of Community Care Access.

For over 15 years, The Access Point has been delivering centralized access services to around 6,000 new clients each year, who are in need of community mental health services and supportive housing for mental health and addictions.

LOFT collaborates with over 45 organizations to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and equitable access to mental health and addiction care in Toronto. This service is facilitated through a network of partners who accept referrals and work collaboratively to enhance access to care.

Reporting to the VP of Client Care and Experience, the Director will offer leadership and oversight to the strategic direction, fostering stakeholder engagement and collaboration in our coordinated access planning.

The role involves:

  • Providing leadership and direction for the daily operations at The Access Point;
  • Building and nurturing a cross-agency team approach to coordinated access system program delivery;
  • Establishing monitoring and reporting processes for both the access network and partner organizations;
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation and regulations, including LOFT policies and procedures;
  • Developing and implementing innovative quality assurance tools, data collection methods, and tracking systems to evaluate and monitor services provided by The Access Point;
  • Collaborating closely with database partners to ensure timely enhancements to technology and systems;
  • Collecting, analyzing, and presenting key statistical data and reports;
  • Managing the Access Point budget;
  • Overseeing communications and public relations;
  • Representing The Access Point in relevant collaborative planning and service groups;

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Leadership experience in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, public health, business administration, or mental health services), along with 5+ years of progressive management experience;
  • A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in mental health and addiction;
  • A proven track record of building collaborative partnerships and a commitment to improving services across sectors;
  • An understanding of technical solutions for systems coordination;
  • A demonstrated capacity to work with diverse communities and an understanding of culturally competent practices;
  • Expertise in strategic and operational planning, program and budget management, and change management;
  • Knowledge of organizational development and policy creation;
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to influence, communicate, build consensus, develop teams, resolve conflicts, and inspire trust;
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a demonstrated ability to learn new software applications as needed.

Additional qualifications include:

  • First Aid, CPR, ASSIST, and/or other suicide prevention training is advantageous;
  • Experience reflecting a multi-barriered group, as serviced by the program, is a strong asset;
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
