About the Role:

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. is seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our team. As a Hydrovac Operator, you will be responsible for all phases of planning, execution, and management of non-mechanical excavation and equipment administration to meet or exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Operate all equipment functions independently and safely, with the ability to provide technical support to clients and crew members as required.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, and coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving of loads, and conduct in response to hand or audio signals for team members.
  • Interpret stakes and signage on the land, and ensure all reporting requirements are fulfilled.
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions, and work under stress with a commitment to timelines and deadlines.
  • Adhere to Aecon specific policies and regulations, as well as site-specific rules and regulations.
  • Protect and promote the interest of the company in all matters, and take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities.
  • Work with minimal supervision, maintain excellent communication between members of the team and clients, and train, coach, and mentor less experienced Hydrovac Operators.
  • Work as a member of the team by assisting other members when required, and perform repetitive actions such as constant sitting, driving, and reaching.
  • Work a significant number of hours throughout the day.

  • A competitive hourly rate of $41 - $44/hour.
