Position Overview:

At TD Engineering, we are developing the next generation of internal products aimed at facilitating seamless engineering experiences aligned with best practices.

The Developer Experience team is dedicated to ensuring that new developers have immediate access to essential tools, reusable software deployment patterns within 24 hours, and a supportive community.

We foster an open-source culture that attracts and nurtures contributors both internally and externally.

Our team will act as the primary user of shared engineering services to guarantee scalability. The team is continuously evolving, and below are some examples of role timelines to enhance our customer experience, the TD Engineer.

Engineering Manager Responsibilities:

You are a skilled senior Engineer/Architect. Your role will not involve daily coding. You will confidently represent your team in discussions. You understand the developer experience and how to prioritize tasks effectively.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Extensive experience in a hybrid in-person/remote work model with high-level asynchronous communication.
  • Proficiency in managing agile teams, delivering products swiftly, and driving iterative processes.
  • Experience in growth hacking strategies.
  • Determination to achieve results within a large organization.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, challenges, and occasional disorder.
  • Ability to work independently, shielding your team from distractions while keeping peers and leadership updated on progress and challenges.
  • A commitment to excellence in all tasks. You will question and listen, actively addressing identified issues and taking ownership of your work.

Within the First Month, You Will:

  • Enhance and refine our onboarding experience in real-time.
  • Engage with peers and leaders across the organization to understand team dynamics and collaboration.
  • Expand the team through your network, developing our new excellence program.

Within Three Months, You Will:

  • Present your product roadmap to the TD Engineering Community at our Townhall.
  • Establish a feedback cadence with the team, including one-on-ones and external requests.
  • Update leadership on progress using real-time team, product, and engineering metrics.
  • Collaborate across TD Engineering to identify additional capacity and motivated product teams for cross-functional challenges.
  • Win the support of our engineers by simplifying and enhancing their daily tasks.

Within Six Months, You Will:

  • Conduct performance evaluations and guide your reports through a compensation review cycle.
  • Collaborate across TD to achieve larger collective successes.
  • Define standard operating procedures and enhance engineering practices throughout the organization.
  • Work with peers to determine where to invest resources and focus efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a large-scale source code migration project from Bitbucket to GitHub.
  • Possess a strong understanding of DevSecOps processes and tools.
  • Prior experience with migrations related to DevSecOps is a plus.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance.
  • Coordinate and manage long-term projects related to source code migration.
  • Empower teams with solution design for complex technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with GitHub and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow.
  • Capable of creating, refining, and sharing status update documents aimed at senior leadership.
