About the Role:

CSA Group is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the development of national and international standards associated with natural resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the development of standards related to sustainability and innovation, primarily in the areas of climate change adaptation, community flood resilience, water pollution prevention, autonomous mining, forest bioeconomy, natural assets, and nature-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple national and international natural resources standards development committees, including facilitation, problem-solving, communication, member recruitment, and preparation of meeting agendas, minutes, and draft standards.
  • Work with committees to identify and gain support for potential areas for new standards or training programs.
  • Manage the many members of standards development committees, which can be demanding as they are all volunteers with no formal reporting relationship to the organization.
  • Lead the development of technical content and work with members to prepare high-quality documents.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within or related to natural resources issues, primarily associated with sustainability or innovation.
  • Determine and manage the resources required to complete a project, ensuring deliverables are achieved on-time and within budget.
  • Support Communities of Interest by promoting involvement and stimulating conversations amongst members and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Technologist or Bachelor's degree (e.g., CET, BSc, or B.Eng).
  • 3-5 years' experience in a sustainability or natural resources related field.
  • Strong market segment knowledge, including government policy, industry landscape, and funding programs/models.
  • Experience leading or working with multi-stakeholder committees or groups.
  • Experience in business development, writing proposals, business plans, and technical documents.
  • Standards development experience or a history of working with standards is an asset.
  • Designation as a Certified Project Management Professional or equivalent designation/experience is an asset.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in business development and writing proposals.
  • Competency with major Microsoft and Project Management software.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the activities of others.
  • Bilingualism would be a definite asset.
