Job Title: Corporate Fleet Management Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Fleet Management Director to join our team at the City of Toronto. As a key member of our Fleet Services Division, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our fleet maintenance unit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement functional policies and programs that enhance business performance and align with divisional goals.
  • Provide strong leadership to enhance and promote Fleet Services' vision, setting strategic directions, goals, and priorities.
  • Direct all activities of the Fleet Maintenance Unit through subordinate management staff, ensuring effective delegation and oversight.
  • Leverage analytics and industry-informed best practices to improve asset reliability and manage fleet operational costs.
  • Actively manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring service levels are met.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse workforce, ensuring effective teamwork, resolving labour relations issues, and maintaining high standards of work quality and organizational performance.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in a leadership role within a large, complex fleet maintenance and management function.
  • Post-secondary education in a job-related professional discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Considerable experience in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Extensive experience in budget management, strategic planning, and policy development.
  • Extensive experience in building and maintaining relationships with key partners, resolving conflicts, and facilitating effective communication across various levels.
