About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at AWC Process Solutions Ltd.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in cost estimating, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. InEight experience is a plus.

The Cost Estimator will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates and budgetary pricing estimates for all bid projects. This will involve working closely with the sales team and applications engineers to develop project requirements, reviewing client bid packages and project specifications, and soliciting subcontractor and vendor quotations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of estimating processes, software suites, and proposal creation. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates and budgetary pricing estimates for all bid projects
  • Work with sales team and applications engineers to develop project requirements
  • Review client bid packages and project specifications
  • Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations
  • Creation and maintenance of estimating database
  • Proposal content creation
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Communicate with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to prepare changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Develop post-award handover packages

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, ideally with estimating in a manufacturing environment
  • InEight experience is a plus
  • Post-secondary education in an Engineering, Construction, or Technical Discipline
  • Experience with Water & Wastewater treatment preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, Process drawings, and design drawings
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and pride in delivering high-quality results
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Interest in continuous learning
