POSITION SUMMARY:

JOIN OUR TEAM AT FAIRFIELD INN AND SUITES GRAVENHURST

As we prepare to launch our new hotel in the Muskoka Region, we are looking for a dedicated Assistant General Manager to help shape memorable experiences for our guests. The hotel features 110 well-appointed rooms and suites, meeting spaces, and a variety of amenities, including a complimentary breakfast, indoor pool, and outdoor patio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Assistant General Manager will play a vital role in overseeing the front office and breakfast operations while supporting the General Manager in daily activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, training, and managing staff across all departments, with a focus on front office operations.
  • Actively participating in front desk duties, including guest service and night audits.
  • Implementing and upholding company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring guest satisfaction remains at 100%.
  • Meeting or exceeding revenue management objectives.
  • Developing and executing financial targets.
  • Recruiting, training, and mentoring staff to foster a productive team environment.
  • Overseeing daily operations and sales initiatives.
  • Representing management to guests, employees, and the local community.
  • Ensuring the hotel’s facilities are well-maintained and compliant with safety and brand standards.
  • Enhancing market share by analyzing local competition and implementing strategic sales plans.
  • Managing health and safety protocols and reporting workplace incidents.
  • Maintaining accurate reporting systems and controls.
  • Handling purchasing and inventory management.
  • Filling in for the General Manager as needed.
  • Assisting with payroll processing in the General Manager's absence.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Experience in personnel management, including recruitment and training.
  • Background in developing and executing business and marketing plans.
  • Familiarity with computerized systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Understanding of accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations is an asset.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
