Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Manning Community Health Centre in northern Alberta. As an integral member of our patient care team, you will provide direct patient care and support functions consistent with the LPN Standards.

• Provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
• Work collaboratively with the interprofessional healthcare team to utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Monitor, document, report and respond to changes in patient's physical, mental and/or emotional state.
• Transfer patients, move equipment, walk, bend and stand frequently during any shift.
• Provide thorough orientation for new staff members following established checklist.
• Maintain competency through continuous learning, education and experience.

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, co-workers, and public.
• Ability to work shift work and possess basic computer skills.

• Rural experience and med surg experience.

We offer a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
