Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with CityWest, a municipally owned telecommunications company providing telephone, cable television, and internet services in British Columbia, Canada.

We are seeking a dedicated Field Design Coordinator to support their exciting Fiber To The Home (FTTH) projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless project execution by providing critical field design and addressing information to various teams.

This position involves collaborating with design, project management, and construction teams to ensure accurate and efficient FTTH deployments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough field surveys to document existing utility infrastructure (poles, water lines, sewer systems, culverts, bridges, etc.)
  • Accurately mark up desktop FTTH designs based on on-the-ground conditions and permit authority requirements.
  • Capture detailed home counts and address information, including multi-dwelling units (MDUs), within designated build areas.
  • Ensure all design markups adhere to CityWest's build methodologies and permit regulations by consulting with relevant teams.
  • Create and refine community address lists as the project design progresses, providing accurate lists to the project department upon completion.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, processes, and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
  • Prepare regular project status update reports for management and key stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in Project Management and other CityWest departmental meetings.
  • Travel extensively to project locations across British Columbia; this role requires significant travel commitment.
  • Promote company values and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • Certificate or associate degree in drafting, surveying, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Google Earth Pro, and GIS systems using ESRI ArcMap products is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license required.
