About the teamLead Manager, Core Algorithms Engineering
Location: our office in Ottawa, Canada
The Core Algorithms Engineering team is a group of passionate software practitioners working together to create algorithms to optimize supply chains. About the roleAs a Lead Manager, you will oversee a software development team that designs algorithms to address complex supply chain challenges across various industry segments. You are accountable for the complete lifecycle of the algorithms your team innovates and develops.
Your primary responsibility is the performance and well-being of the individuals in your team. Key tasks you will perform include:
- Effectively manage team members in accordance with company policy and procedures, including performance management, career development, training, and conflict resolution with constructive feedback.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to succeed and achieve their career objectives.
- Making informed technical decisions to deliver comprehensive solutions for our clients.
- Removing barriers for your team by enhancing software development and work processes and facilitating communication with external stakeholders.
- Foster learning and knowledge transfer within your team to adhere to best practices for software engineering, agile delivery, and customer focus.
- Plan intricate projects and software release timelines.
- Engage with customers, partners, and other stakeholders to deliver quality software consistently.
- Cultivate and promote a positive and effective working environment.
- Train and integrate new team members and proactively support the ongoing development of existing team members.
- Collaborate with leaders from other teams at Kinaxis to facilitate success.
- Influence the future direction of Kinaxis as we explore new markets.
- Knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle.
- Experience in managing teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
- Development with object-oriented languages such as C++.
- Object Oriented Design patterns and design practices.
- Experience using Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
- Use of common tools including MS Visual Studio, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, and SonarQube.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management (Demand Planning, MRP, S&OP, Capacity Planning).
- Performance management of software developer, software tester, and dev ops roles at all levels.
- Supporting software-as-a-service (SaaS) products in large scale enterprise environments.
