The Royal Mental Health Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall well-being of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive nursing care that meets the unique needs and goals of each patient.
- Assess patients' needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Deliver nursing services as assigned, including assisting patients with daily living activities and personal care.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis management and emergency nursing care.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of program policies, procedures, applicable legislation, and mental health best practices.
- Work in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies, and procedures of The Royal.
- Contribute to a work environment that is free from racism, harassment, and discrimination.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Province of Ontario.
- Ability to perform full Registered Practical Nursing functions.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, and Substitute Decision Act.
- Satisfactory Police Records Check, for vulnerable sector.
- Valid drivers' license.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a professional multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met).
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension, and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.
Salary Range: $30.35 to $31.80 per hour
