Job Title: Knitting Machine Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Knitting Machine Mechanic to join our team at Great Canadian Sox Co Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our knitting machines to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working with knitting machines. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is in good working order.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance on knitting machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions on knitting machines
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Estimate costs and materials for repairs and maintenance
  • Coach and instruct apprentices on knitting machine maintenance and repair
  • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for knitting machines
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Experience working with knitting machines
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and efficiency. You will be required to work in a noisy and dusty environment, with occasional confined spaces.
