The Central Scheduling Office (CSO) serves as the hub for comprehensive scheduling and staffing assistance across all locations of Hamilton Health Sciences. This office operates under the Clinical Resource division.
Position Overview
The Supervisor for the Central Scheduling Office (CSO) plays a crucial role in identifying and coordinating departmental activities to ensure the smooth operation of the office and the effective delivery of scheduling services.
The Supervisor - CSO oversees the provision of scheduling services in a 18/7 operational environment, which includes shift work. This role requires flexibility to work during days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Additionally, the Supervisor will serve as the on-call contact in the absence of the Manager of the Central Scheduling Office.
Work Schedule
37.50 hours per week; includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position is temporary.
Qualifications
1. Diploma in Business Administration from a Community College.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Scheduling or Administration.
3. Preferred experience of at least 1 year with Kronos or similar automated scheduling systems.
4. A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
6. Understanding of policies related to staffing, scheduling, and time management.
7. In-depth knowledge of union Collective Agreements and their implications for staff scheduling.
8. Ability to make informed decisions in line with policies, legislative requirements, and collective agreements, aligned with HHS core values.
9. Management or leadership experience, ideally in a unionized setting.
10. Proven ability to implement and lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
11. Skills in Project Management.
12. Competence in Change Management.
13. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
14. Strong team-building capabilities.
15. Skills in coaching and mentoring.
16. Exceptional organizational abilities.
17. Capacity to analyze challenges and devise solutions.
18. Solid business acumen.
As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required.
