Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist III to join our team at PHSA. As a clinical expert in the field of speech-language pathology, you will be responsible for assessing and diagnosing communication disorders in children with cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's communication skills, including speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive care to children with cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions.
  • Provide education and training to parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols for the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in children with cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care to children with cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pediatric speech-language pathology, with a focus on cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions.
  • Advanced training in cleft palate and other craniofacial conditions, such as nasopharyngoscopy and videofluoroscopy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
