Job Title: Housekeeper

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at MANJU B JAIN. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our private residence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture, make beds and change sheets, stock linen closet, clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, pick up debris and empty trash containers, launder clothing and household linens.
  • Light Housekeeping and Cleaning Duties: Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, shop for food and household supplies, wash windows, walls and ceilings.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: We support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, and offering mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees.
  • Support for Youths: We participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment, offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: We participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people, offer mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.

Requirements: No degree, certificate or diploma required. Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) weight handling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive tasks. Punctuality, dependability, flexibility, organized, values and ethics, patience, honesty.

Language: English

Work Environment: Private residence. Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment.

Transportation: Public transportation is available.
