Nurse Consultant

This posting will be used to fill a term full-time position working 75 hours bi-weekly.
About the RoleThe Community Nursing Branch is responsible for delivering primary and public health care through health centres situated across the Yukon.
The Nursing Practice Consultant (NPC) role includes training, ongoing education, and development of staff to ensure they meet or exceed professional standards required to function in primary health care and in an expanded role capacity.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and deliver professional development courses
- Provide training and education to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in an expanded nursing scope of practice
- Recommend programs to Community Nursing management
- Conduct program audits and develop educational support for practice issues
Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs would be an asset
Recent experience in the delivery of community health and treatment services
Experience in delivering training workshops/courses would be an asset
Strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality improvement, risk management, and resource utilization
Strong knowledge in treatment services in an expanded primary health care role
