Educational Leader for Nisga'a Elementary Secondary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an Intermediate Teacher at Nisga'a Elementary Secondary School. This is a full-time temporary position starting September 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Intermediate Grade 6/7 students and contributing to the development of a culturally rich and inclusive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Indigenous Education and a willingness to engage with and motivate students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Intermediate Grade 6/7 students and develop individualized learning plans
- Contribute to the development of a culturally rich and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve educational goals
- Engage with and motivate students to achieve academic success
Requirements:
- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
- Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning
- Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the BC Curriculum
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary ($61,942 to $111,226)
- Recruitment and Retention allowance for all teachers ($2,947 paid over 10 months of the school year, based on FTE)
- Isolation Allowance for our remote communities: Laxgalts'ap - $2,336; Gingolx - $4,030
- Mentoring and coaching for new teachers
