About the Role
Lloyds Register is seeking a highly skilled Naval Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and quality of ships and marine vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform classification and statutory surveys onboard or in shipyards for existing and new building ships.
- Conduct accurate and timely reporting, ensuring that reports are both technically and legally correct.
- Offer extensive advice and consultancy in areas of the modern marine industry.
- Continuously develop professional knowledge and awareness, and mentor or coach colleagues as appropriate.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
Requirements
- A degree in marine engineering or naval architecture.
- Working experience from classification, shipping companies, or shipbuilding industry will be an advantage.
- Awareness of the marine business environment, including onboard work and developing existing business and reaching for new opportunities.
- Good knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written). Knowledge in French is merited.
- IT literacy with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Package.
