Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Finning. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
  • Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

Requirements:

  • Journeyperson Electrical Certification
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
  • Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
  • Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset
  • Willingness to participate and complete additional training
  • Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills

Work Environment:

  • Travel is required throughout Alberta and NWT
  • Preference for candidate locations are Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer and Grande Prairie
  • This position will work a 7x7 continuous shift
  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position
