Therapy Assistant Opportunity

Come be a part of our dynamic Calgary Rural Rehabilitation team This regular part-time opportunity will be based out of the Oilfields General Hospital in Black Diamond and will be focused on supporting Rehabilitation programming in the facility, as well as in the community.

About the Role

The Therapy Assistant provides rehab services within the Oilfields General Hospital, primarily supporting Acute Care and Long-Term Care, and will also have the opportunity to provide support to outpatient and home care services. The Therapy Assistant functions as an integral member of the inter-professional team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Language Pathology interventions
  • Contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum
  • Work effectively with internal and external partners, and display professionalism and strong ethics in both client-centered care and participation in care teams
  • Demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency
Requirements
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program or equivalent training
  • Basic Life Support certificate
  • At least 1 year experience (0.5 FTE or more) working as a Therapy Assistant in acute and/or Long-Term Care setting
  • Experience with equipment set-up and maintenance (e.g. wheelchairs, cushions)
