Job Opportunity: Lifeguard and Instructor

The City of Yellowknife is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment that delivers excellent services to our residents. We are seeking responsible and enthusiastic individuals to assume part-time, casual positions as Lifeguards with the Community Services Department.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Learn and become proficient in safe and proper lifeguard techniques, with a focus on patron safety and customer service.
  • Respond to incidents, participate in mandatory training events, and conduct regular checks of the change room and guard area.
  • Teach swimming lessons and prepare aquatic lessons for children, youth, and adults, evaluating participant performance and completing progress cards as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Current National Lifeguard Award
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • Ability to pass the Building Standards Exam
  • Excellent customer service skills
